Winery recommendations for a Good Bottle of Wine in Monterey County. These are listed in the order of our preference, start at the top and work your way down as you taste through the canyon.

Hahn, Southern Salinas Valley, a favorite, good GSM, Pinot Noir, and beautiful view of the Salinas Valley. Have lunch here.

Talbott – Wonderful Pinot Noir here. In 2014 we tasted their wine again, and they continue to provide wonderful, savory wines.

Wrath – The owner is restoring an old 2-story Victorian home nearby, check out their Pinot Noir and Syrah 3 Clone.

Scheid, Southern Salinas Valley. Taste their Pinot Noir Clone 777 & 667

Paraiso – Check out their Irie Zin

Pessagno – Enjoyed their Zins and Syrah

Boekenoogen Wines – Enjoyed their Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir

Heller Estate – Organic wines.

Chateau Julien – Try their Black Nova II, a little on the high price point side.

Ranch 32 – Soft Cabernet Sauvignon from Greenville (though they have no tasting room at this time.)
