Seeking a Good Bottle of Wine in Temecula

Our winery recommendations for a Good Bottle of Wine in the Temecula (in Riverside County east of San Diego)….we’ve written about these wineries in one story. This region tends to be busy and crowded on weekends and charge higher fees for wine tasting flights, increasing on weekends. Wines tend to be on the red side because of the warm Southern California climate, but you’ll find interesting white wine here as well.

Wiens Family Vineyards – Check out their Reserve Zinfandel 2010, Pink Crowded,  Dolcetto Sangiovese and Clementine, a Chardonnay. Also, their Pinot Gris with Mandarin Orange.

Robert Renzoni Vineyards – This place rocks! Although we had to drive on a dirt road, up a very steep hill and then walk down to the tasting room in a very large barn, we had a great time. Check out their Big Fred Red, Old Vine Zinfandel
Concerto, a blend of Zin, Syrah and Merlot (a ZSM!)

Doffo – Known for their Malbec, Syrah and Zinfandel, all winners. The tasting room was very relaxing and the employees very attentive and helpful.

Chapin Family Wines – Check out their Cabernet Sauvignon.

Faulkner Winery – Looking for a Vegan/Gluten free restaurant? The Pinnacle Restaurant at Falkner Winery offers great panoramic views, outstanding Mediterranean style food and high quality service. Yes, Vegan and Gluten free are on the menu.

Robert Renzoni Vineyards – Sample Big Fred Red, Old Vine Zinfandel, Concerto.

Wilson Creek Winery – You owe it to yourself to taste their Almond Champagne.
